THE OLDER I GET, THE MORE I DON’T KNOW

The past has passed me
The future’s ghastly
And now is just another cup of tea

Sat on the sofa
Thinking over
All the things that I forgot to be

The older I get, the more I don’t know
The world’s just too fast or I’m just too slow
So, what happens next? Which way do I go?
The older I get, the more I don’t know

Each day of life is
A minor crisis
An impossibly dull list of things to do

What’s my opinion?
Make a decision
I’m sorry, I just haven’t got a clue

‘Cos the older I get, the more I don’t know
The world’s just too fast or I’m just too slow
So, what happens next? Which way do I go?
The older I get, the more I don’t know

And some days
I still wish I’d never been born at all
I still wish I’d never been born at all
I still wish I’d never been born at all
